The Women’s Leadership Circles (WLC) program, a project of The California Endowment, was established to help women of color in leadership positions at social change organizations become more effective change agents in their communities.
Abundantia Consulting began the WLC evaluation by conducting a series of focus groups and individual interviews to identify key outcomes to track over the project’s lifespan. After the interview and focus group data had been processed and analyzed, a video team recorded over nine hours of women’s leadership circle discussions, which were later edited according to pre-identified thematic codes. The final product—a 20-minute DVD—communicates the vision and results of the initiative to policymakers, funders, and broader audiences interested in promoting leadership and social change.
Abundantia Consulting’s final deliverable to The California Endowment was a boxed set of visual evaluation materials, including the Digital Storytelling DVD, the WLC Logic Map System, and an evaluation synthesis report. The final mixed-media report communicated results to a variety of stakeholders and served as a visual record of an innovative approach to supporting social change.
