Welcome Back: Internationally-Trained Health Workers Program
#

Welcome Back is a statewide initiative begun in 2001, funded by The California Endowment, to assist internationally trained health professionals living in California. The initiative's mission is to build a bridge between the pool of internationally trained health workers living in California and the need for linguistically and culturally competent health services in underserved communities. There are three Centers statewide: San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Now with data for over 8,000 participants, housed in a relational database developed by Abundantia, the initiative is focusing on policy strategies and replication nationwide.

Abundantia Consulting developed the client database and an internal website (known as The Logic Map) to collect and aggregate data, and ensure real-time decision-making across grantees/sites. This web-based evaluation tool tracks short- and long-term outcomes at the policy, participant, and employer levels. Information is easily accessible to diverse stakeholders to support program monitoring, evaluation and improvement on an on-going basis.
