Transnational Communities Initiative
#

The North American Transnational Communities Initiative (NATC) is a multi-year, $9 million initiative of the Rockefeller Foundation to “encourage public policies and private practices that support the well-being of the transnational poor by providing them with better livelihood choices.” NATC’s core strategies include project support and capacity building for non-governmental organizations, funding university-based research in the United States and Mexico, and sponsoring trans-national conferences.

The Rockefeller Foundation hired Abundantia Consulting’s team to create a customized, web-based system that would store, organize and graphically depict NATC data. The Abundantia Grants Management System created for NATC organized and stored historical and contemporaneous data, including strategic reports, theory of change records and alternative scenario documents. It synthesized grant information for monitoring and resource allocation purposes, and generated customized reports.

Abundantia’s Grants Management System helped NATC’s program managers to monitor their investments and illustrate progress across the initiative in a timely manner. It integrated quantitative data with outcomes in a way that was accessible to stakeholders with multidisciplinary backgrounds, including economics, public health, and education. Abundantia’s Grants Management System can be integrated with the Logic Map System to link resource allocation to population-level impacts and guide strategic decision-making.
