Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) works with grantmakers to strengthen Latino communities across the Americas. HIP’s initiative the Funders' Collaborative for Strong Latino Communities (FC), begun in 1997, pools philanthropic dollars to support capacity building among Latino nonprofit organizations. Abundantia developed a five-year retrospective paper that reviewed the unique features of the FC and, drawing upon a variety of data sources, analyzed their individual and collective impacts on Latino nonprofits. The report is intended to support the ongoing activities of the FC, as well as inform the broader philanthropic community about a new model of grantmaking.
