Fundemex was incorporated in June 2004 as a foundation supported by the voluntary participation of the Mexican business sector. Its mission is "to promote transformational development and sustainable processes to counter poverty in Mexico, delivered through civil society organizations, supported by the Mexican business sector, into local communities to build economic, social and environmental value." In 2006, Abundantia conducted a bi-lingual strategic evaluation workshop in Mexico City for the staff and board of the foundation to identify indicators and results measures for Fundemex grants.
