
President
Dr. Zoe Cardoza Clayson is the President of Abundantia Consulting. She founded the company in 2003 and since then has directed strategic evaluations for philanthropic organizations and non-governmental organizations worldwide.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Clayson has conducted strategic evaluations and policy analyses in the areas of health equity and community development. Known for innovation in the field, her work has been presented at conferences in Great Britain, Canada, Finland, Poland, Germany, Mexico and Vietnam. Her award-winning visual assessments combine traditional research methodologies with web-based approaches, photography, and digital technologies in new and engaging ways.

After holding senior positions in the policy offices of the U.S. Department of Labor, the Maryland State Department of Health, and the Los Angeles Department of Health Services, Dr. Clayson joined the faculty at the University of California, San Francisco, Institute for Health Policy Studies. For a decade, she directed state and national studies related to women and children's health and community economic development. In 1996 she joined the faculty of San Francisco State University.
Building upon her extensive experience in the arts, Dr. Clayson recently produced a digital story in Los Angeles related to a women's leadership project that combined evaluation methodologies with film. Previously, she produced two award-winning documentary films in Geneva, Switzerland with Spanish migrant women and directed several photo reportage projects in Angola, Mozambique, and Ethiopia.
Dr. Clayson holds a Doctor of Science from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and is a Professor in the College of Health and Human Services at San Francisco State University. Recent publications include "The Intersection of Culture, Health and Systems in California Latino Communities" and "Unequal Power, Changing Landscapes: Negotiations Between Stakeholders in Latino Communities".
